Raahein conducts regular aptitude-enhancing workshops for school-going children in rural areas and urban slums. These include Chandoli and Todiyar villages in Alwar district and Kusumpur Pahari, a slum in Delhi. The objective of these workshops is to generate an interest in academics through fun and games. Some of the activities include storytelling, story reading, painting, craft, English-conversation lessons and discussions on current affairs. The workshops also comprise participating in team games such as solving jigsaw puzzles, dumb charades, antakshri and role play/skits, all with the intention of teaching basic life-skills and inculcating team spirit. The workshops also have sessions on pressing issues faced by the people living in their area and suggestions are invited on ways to overcome them. For instance, lack of cleanliness was pointed out as one of the issues of concern for which the children gave a number of suggestions which were then shared with the school authorities.
