Raahein is running an income-generation programme in a slum of Delhi, Kusumpur Pahari, since 2007. Young girls and women from the lower economic strata are associated with this programme. They have been trained to make handicrafts, decorative items, glass paintings, bags (paper, cloth and jute), cushion covers, fancy dupattas, lampshades, fashion jewellery, pouches and gift bags (silk and velvet), and so on. This programme helps its beneficiaries financially and gives them a sense of achievement and satisfaction.
